Monthly rent includes heat and water – tenants are responsible for their own power, telephone and cable services.  Damage Deposit is $125.00.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 

Applicant must be 18 years of age or older and must meet the qualifications the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation has established under the Saskatchewan Household Income Maximum – low (SHIM-low) which is $46,600 per year ($3,883 per month) - see line 15000 of Income Tax.

Applicant must meet the requirements Saskatchewan Housing’s definition of hard to house:  “Persons who are unable to access or maintain stable housing due to one or more characteristics that create unusual barriers to housing.  These people often need supports and/or services in order to access or maintain stable housing.  This includes, but is not limited to, households with persons who have physical disabilities, mental health issues, addiction issues, behaviourial issues, or a number of these issues concurrently.”

Approved applicants are point rated to their need, with preference given to those with lower income and those who are living at risk.

 
Fromm Manor was built in 2015 with 11 studio/bachelor suites (with one suite being fully accessible).

• The suite is 280 square feet
• Suites are heated by a boiler system with each suite controlled with its own thermostat
• All suites are smoke free.
• Suites are one large room serving as the kitchen, living room and bedroom with a separate bathroom.  There is a built in table in the kitchen.
• Closet space is very limited and there is no storage room.
• Each suite has a single front entrance
• There is no laundry facility however, the Laundromat is less a block away
• All suites are designed for independent living with support agencies providing varying services on an assessed basis
• Minor maintenance is provided by on-site maintenance personnel and emergency situations are handled through a 24-hour on-call service
• There are a limited number of electrified parking stalls available at a monthly cost.
• The City’s Dial-a-Bus service is available at a number of location less than a block away

Approved applicants are placed on the waiting list according to the date of application.

 
Bradbrooke Drive was built in two stages with 20 units built in 1959 and the remaining 20 in 1961.  Each building consists of four studio/bachelor suites and one common laundry room.

• The suite is 302 square feet
• There are two furnaces in each building, each to heat two suites.
• All suites are smoke free.
• Suites have a bedroom-living room combination and an accordion fold door which can be pulled across to create privacy
• The bathroom, kitchen and storage room are set off to one side.
• Closet space is very limited
• Each suite has a single front entrance
• The laundry room is shared by four suites and accessed from the outside
• All suites are designed for independent living with Home Care or other service agencies providing varying services on an assessed basis
• Minor maintenance is provided by on-site maintenance personnel and emergency situations are handled through a 24-hour on-call service
• There are a limited number of electrified parking stalls available at a monthly cost.
• The City’s Dial-a-Bus service is available in front of the units on Bradbrooke Drive
